Dear Ka Osang and family

On behalf of Migrante Australia we send to you and to all of your family members our deepest sympathy at this tragic time of the passing of your beloved husband and comrade Ka Bel.

Ka Bel inspired us and our people in all corners of the world. He is a great leader of the working people of our nation whose steadfast leadership of genuine trade unionism over a period of 60 years has reaped great victories for our nation and our people. He endured repression, arrest, and vilification, but never lost focus and courage in the face of such threats. Ka Bel always relied on the strength of the workers organized in their own unions.

Ka Bel's last life moment is a reflection of a very caring person to his family and to his larger family, the oppressed and exploited people of the Philippines. He never stopped to look for the root cause and solution of a problem such as a leaking roof. He braved all the typhoons that came throughout his life.

We wish to express our thanks to you and your children. Your family life has been that of sacrifice as you joined and supported Ka Bel's deep commitment to our nation and the working class. For your sacrifices and the strength you gave Ka Bel over the long decades, we are deeply grateful.

We commit ourselves to continue to struggle that was central to Ka Bel's life. We will not let the inspiration of his life pass quietly away. We will rage against the dying of the light, and we will continue to assert the rights and aspirations of workers in the Philippines and in all the corners of our world.

Long live the workers!
Long live KMU!
Long live the legacy of Ka Bel, Philippine hero and of world's working class.

Yours sincerely

(Signed)
