Message of Solidarity from the UHW-West
On behalf of the SEIU United Health Workers-West (UHW
West), the largest workers union in the West Coast of
the United States representing 150,000 health care
workers in California, and the Circulo Panpangueno of
Southern California Inc., an umbrella organization of
22 towns in Pampanga. Philippines extend our
heart-felt condolences to the bereaved family, friends
and comrades of the working class hero- Ka Crispin “
Ka Bel” Beltran.
Ka Bel and the UHW shared one thing in common. We are
representing the interest of the common worker and the
common man. We in the UHW are committed to a
democratic-member run union with a mission of truly
improving the workers’ lives and opposing the
centralization of power away from union members.
UHW stands for “One Member, One Vote, One Union, and
One Vision”
UHW and Ka Bel has consistently acted with the highest
integrity, placing the interests of their
constituencies at the center of their work and placing
the highest priority on efforts to organize workers
who do not yet have the benefit of a union
UHW is one of California’s and nation’s leading
advocates for workers rights and quality, affordable
healthcare, and its major force in building a
progressive majority committed to the pursuit of
economic, social and environmental justice.
We salute and hold Ka Bel in high esteem and his
examples and proletarian internationalist leadership
will always inspire us.
Eternal glory to the Filipino working class hero- Ka
Bel!
Mabuhay si Ka Bel!
Mabuhay ang uring manggagawa, uring magpapalaya!
Jay L. Valencia
UHW Administrative Vice-President
Member, Political Constituency and
President Circulo Pampangueno of Southern California
