Ka Bel was flown to Legaspi City in the early morning of May 24 with the famous Mayon Volcano in full view. A mass was held at the Redemptorist church, then friends, townmates and fellow activists went on a caravan and march to his hometown of Bacacay, Albay, some 25 kilometers away. Memorial services were held that included tributes and eulogies.
