Midweek:
One last question on an entirely different subject. Do you think your back-ground in creative writing has helped you in your political work?

JMS:
Certainly, certainly. I think without the background in creative writing I would be writing very drab prose. And you know, I thnk it is a requirement for revolutionary leadership to have a literary. imagination. The scientific mind is important in analyzing given facts. But to be able to anticipate what will happen next, you need literary imagination. But it is literary imagination founded on scientific analysis. As Einsten said, experimental physicists deal with given facts and with experiments, but when you're in the realm of theoretical physics, it is imagination which is important. With imagination, you create something new.
